Vigitron highlighted the Vi50004, a 4-port 1G Ethernet fiber media converter designed to help expand fiber connectivity in security networks with growing transmission demands.
The Vi50004 provides four 1G fiber media converters in a single chassis, offering a practical way to add fiber ports to network switches and support long-distance fiber transmission. Using standard SFP modules, the unit can interface with different fiber cable types and support distances up to 80 km, depending on the cable and SFP used.
Designed for flexible deployment, each port can be powered independently by PoE or a local power supply. The Vi50004 also supports jumbo frames up to 9,600 bytes, extended temperature operation from -40°C to +75°C, and can be combined with the Vi5000R rackmount adapter to create a scalable 4- to 16-port headend solution.
The Vi50004 is built for applications such as upgrading analog fiber installations to IP, expanding network capacity in industrial environments, and supporting long-distance, high-bandwidth security systems in locations such as casinos, airports, and school campuses.
